Hardtner Medical Center began from the efforts of the citizens of the Olla, Tullos and Urania areas. These citizens saw a need for a modern hospital to serve the area and formed the Hospital Service District #1 of the Parish of LaSalle, State of Louisiana located in Ward 2 of said Parish. The petition to create the district was presented to the Policy Jury on May 3, 1966. The hospital was built in 1969.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Surgery

We will ask the same questions multiple times to ensure patient safety. This is a NATIONAL PATIENT SAFETY INITIATIVE. Examples of the questions we may repeatedly ask are your name, date of birth, procedure to be performed and upon which side will we be performing the procedure.

We will educate you about pain, nausea, and the prevention of blood clots and infections, when appropriate.

It will be chilly when you enter the operating room so we will cover your with warm blankets for your comfort.

Our Surgical Services team will keep your family members informed of your progress. Families should remain in the patient's room or in our surgery waiting area.
